Beach School East Sussex

We love sharing examples of the hundreds of groups and organisations working with children and young people across Sussex Bay. For example, at Beach School East Sussex, the team follow the same ethos as Forest School - at the beach! The team run beach school sessions for schools, nurseries, home education sessions and holiday clubs along our incredible Sussex coastline, including Eastbourne and Rottingdean so far, with more locations planned.

The aim of the child-led sessions is to build and nurture confidence, self-esteem, resilience, to boost physical and mental health and to foster a love and care for the natural world through positive outdoor experiences.

At Beach School, children are given the time and space to develop social and physical skills such as compassion, team working and self-esteem through practical hands-on learning. Children take calculated risks, make choices and initiate their own learning, whilst boosting their health and wellbeing and connection to nature.

Along with other organisations across Sussex Bay, the team also run bespoke workshops for schools and organisations.
